allowed us to grow food, because we need it in order to live, so let’s make that food be healthy. So in 2011 my husband and I invested our own savings in order to start an OPG after three years of planning. We strive to expand our land and cultivate more land every year. Our OPG owns 12 hectares of land. In our crop rotation we grow pumpkin, spelt and other cultures depending on the needs and the season. Pumpkin and spelt are our primary cultures and for them we are relatively well technologically equipped /our own mechanization for cultivation of the soil, combine harvester, driers, lines for washing, cleaning, polishing, sorting, filling, packaging and other/, but you can always do better. Although it may seem that pumpkins are easy to grow, that is far from the truth, especially in organic
production. The biggest challenge is getting rid of the weeds. In organic production we destroy it only through mechanical ways. The basic fertilization and feeding is done exclusively by certified organic fertilizers, and it is knows that pumpkin loves a soil rich with humus. Spelt has more modest requirements toward climate and soil conditions and also towards crop management. It is resistant to pests and diseases. Its seeds are protected of several layers of husk which protect it from outside contamination, and so it is suitable for organic production. We produce and place on the market pumpkin seed oil, different shapes and sizes of packaging of pumpkin seeds and spelt and products derived from spelt. So besides regular seeds we also offer seeds covered in chocolate as an excellent healthy treat. We make a pesto from pumpkin seeds by our special recipe and can be used while making many dishes out of pasta, rice or just as a spread to put on bread. Spelt can be bought as a grain, grounded or as spelt bran. We recommend our products to everyone who wants to eat healthy, who wants to know what they are eating while having the knowledge that the food was made with plenty of positive energy.
