OPG Elizabeta Pezo Paliska has existed since 2011.

The family currently has two members, the holder of the family and her husband, and one full-time employee, responsible for the operation of the plantation.

We currently have 2.5 hectares planted. On 99% of the surface, there is Vaccinium corymbosum, American blueberry, we have an assortment of 20 varieties (COVILLE, HERBERT, NORTHLAND, PATRIOT, GOLDTRAUBE, BLUERAY, BLUECROP, DIXI, TORO, EMBLUE, LEGACY, BLUERWEST and other varieties, DAR) maturation, i.e. we cover demand with late, middle and early varieties.

Then we have Vaccinium macrocarpon cranberries, black currants, raspberries, blackberries, chokeberries, and of course fruits for our needs, such as apples, pears, hazelnuts, figs.

Blueberry fruit has outstanding nutritional, pharmaceutical, dietary, and technological values, which makes it very suitable for fresh consumption, drying, freezing, and making various products.

The nutritional and medicinal properties of blueberry fruits are reflected in the content of individual elements. The energy value of blueberry fruit is low, about 60 kcal per 100 grams of fruit, and is ideal for maintaining a diet. The relatively high content of potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium make a real treasure for the human body, especially if the blueberry is used fresh.

Organic production is terribly demanding, all weeds are removed by hand on 2.5 hectares, weeds are around the bush of the plant, an agrofoil is placed which retains moisture and prevents the growth of weeds, and is sufficiently permeable to light.

American blueberry is an extremely hardy plant, withstanding temperatures down to -40 degrees Celsius. It also requires a certain number of hours per year at temperatures below 4 degrees.

Luckily we sell all our products fresh, the only thing we have produced so far is a blueberry liqueur which is excellent and has a very good reception with friends.

We also analyzed the content of ascorbic acid and anthocyanins in our 5 species and compared them with buying from big stores. The results are also 80% more in my blueberries than in the commercial ones. You have the results on my Facebook page – Borovnice tete Bete .

We pay daily attention to everything, we monitor the development of leaf buds, flower buds, we monitor bees, bumblebees, solitary bees, we plant flowers to attract bees on the inter-sown lawn. We make sure that the blueberries are picked by hand directly in the boxes that come to the customer. Blueberries are picked in the morning when there is no dew until about 11 a.m. and only in the afternoon from 5 to 8 p.m. So only 5 hours a day. Our blueberries are tested and digested before harvest, and when we are completely sure that they are ripe, we pick them. Most domestic and Croatian producers pick blueberries when it floods, which is not good because it takes a few more days to collect all the sugar.

Blueberry is the only fruit that does not ripen if you pick it too early. That’s why my blueberries come on the market later than other homemade ones because we don’t want to sell the buyer something that isn’t ripe, for a quick profit.

We try to put the customer and the people working on the plantation in focus. The customer is the one who must be satisfied. And the worker is the one who must be satisfied. We were lucky and we got a worker who loves her job and enjoys it. When this is achieved, success is guaranteed.

We sell blueberries on the doorstep and in Zagreb. We have free shipping. While we can afford it.

Our plantation is open to casual travelers, to people who want to come and try, pick and eat on the spot. The kids are especially thrilled. Of course, you should watch out for bees and wasps for stings.

It is also interesting that people with small children can come to our plantation and pick blueberries themselves for themselves, at a discounted price, and of course eat.

We grow chokeberry and also offer picking and a symbolic charge per kilogram. American blueberry is very different from the so-called. Siberian-Kamchatka blueberry coming into fruition in May.

People call us and ask when yours will be, these are already on sale. These are different fruit species. Blueberry is an extremely fine, irresistible, and interesting berry. Since no properties are lost by freezing, it can be consumed throughout the year, if you manage to freeze it at all! It is mostly eaten.

We invest a lot in marketing, design, we mainly try to reach the customer with quality.
