OPG Marijo Filipović started breeding Zagorje turkeys in 2018. We increase the number every year and now we have 500 of them. The turkeys are fed a mixture, corn and are grazing outside, which is very important for their breeding. We also have our own slaughterhouse which allows us to work easier and we do everything on our family farm. The work is family; my wife, children and I complement each other in the daily responsibilities that turkey breeding requires.
Since the Zagorje turkey is in demand, our goal is to place our turkey in some European cities. On our family farm, breeding ranges from rolling turkeys to packaging the finished product.
In addition to Zagorje turkey, we also grow barley (2 tons), corn (7 tons) and wheat (2 tons) on our family farm.
